Mexican Instruments

Mexico has a series of different music styles. There are a number of instruments that produces so much beautiful sound that cannot be neglected. Mexican culture is full of music and variety of styles. A number of music instruments are given by Mexico they are not so common for every people but their beautiful sound touches your soul.

There is small description of some of the famous Mexican Instruments:

Mexican Instruments

Maracas are the musical instrument used for salsa dance. This is made of the fruit of the higuera tree. It produces so much romantic sound that delights our soul.

Guiro are made of plastics, metal and fiber glasses. The instrument is widely used by musical bands. Don't confuse with other name of Guiro like calabazo, guayo, ralladera or rascador.

Harp is a string instrument made up of nylon. The rapid movement of strings by fingers produces a sound like mandolin.

Vihuela also knows as lute. This is a five string guitar produces high pitch sounds. It mainly used to release low notes and essential part of mariachi band.

Violin is a very common music instrument used worldwide and proudly considered as an essential part of all musical bands. It produces very melodious sound.

Cuatro is a musical instrument that is also popular as hit guitar. It is widely used in place of guitar.

Jarana is a musical instrument with five group of simple string. It is mainly used in combination of other musical instrument that is Huapanguera.

Sixth guitar is a string instrument that does not used with violin and guitar. It works alone and produces harmonic sounds.

Requinto is a musical instrument with eight strings and used to produce melodious sound. Spike Bass is a traditional instrument about to disappear. Mexican Instruments are so much wider and harmonic that no one can neglect their significance.

Jarochan harp is a pyramid shape string instrument that is made of precious wood. This instrument is not so much heavy or light. Harp of Guerrero is a big and heavy musical instrument and not so much flexible. So this instrument is not so much popular.

Harp of warm lands is a string instrument that has already been disappeared and now only being a part of Mexico museums.

Psaltery is also a part of Mexican Instruments family. There are several rows of metallic string over the instrument. The main attraction point of this instrument is tremolo that is used to make melodious sounds.
